FAQ
FOR PROSPECTIVE COUPLES
We’re happy to hold your date for a couple of days following your tour while you make a decision. After that, a signed contract and 50% down payment is required to secure your date.
WHAT DO YOU REQUIRE TO BOOK our DATE?
WHAT Are our options for OUR CEREMONY IN THE EVENT OF BAD WEATHER?
The good news is not only is rain on your wedding day good luck, but also that our team is able to quickly transform the upper or lower level of the barn into an indoor ceremony space in the event of rain. Our rustic, historic barn makes a beautiful backdrop for tying the knot.
If there is rain on your day, we wait as long as possible to make the decision to move your ceremony indoors, typically an hour or two before your ceremony. Following an indoor ceremony, we’ll then flip the space back during cocktail hour so it’s ready for your reception. There is no cost for a room flip. We are flexible and here to make your wedding day everything you imagined.
While we are primarily an outdoor venue and therefore can’t give a 100% bug-free guarantee, we spray regularly for mosquitos and do everything we can to keep bugs away. We rarely, if ever, have a problem with them at any of our weddings.
are bugs a problem at the venue?
In order to maintain the historic integrity of our venue, the barn does not have heating or air conditioning. The barn has large, open-air windows and therefore typically is similar to the temperature of the outdoor air. The barn does have ceiling fans for cooling and an evaporative cooler on warmer days for the dance floor. We also bring in heaters when necessary in the cooler months, which warm the barn to 65 degrees. The bridal suite in the pink, Victorian house does have heating and air conditioning.
does your venue have air conditioning?
Yes. Our venue is ADA compliant. Our parking staff is happy to help transport anyone from our parking lot to the ceremony space via golf cart. Our barn has ramp access and handicap-accessible restrooms.
is the venue wheelchair accessible?
can we bring our pet?
Yes, we love when our couples’ furry family members make a special appearance on their wedding day. Pets are allowed outside on our grounds for your ceremony, but are not permitted inside the barn. We recommend having them at your ceremony only.
Yes. The Victorian home on our property as well as our lake house rental, Dover at Eagle Lake, are available for overnight rentals by Farm at Dover couples only, depending on availability (we do not rent out the Victorian home on days when we have another wedding). Please contact us for availability.
do you offer overnight rentals?
For Current Couples
Yes, of course! We love to hear about your plans and understand that it always helps to have a second or third look at the venue during your planning process. Please contact us to schedule a visit.
Can we visit the farm during our planning process?
Yes. All of our couples are invited to schedule a one-hour rehearsal, based on availability. We also will schedule a final walkthrough one to one-and-a-half months prior to your wedding day where we discuss your plan for the day, draft a floor plan, and discuss your bar package selections.
do you offer a rehearsal or final walkthrough?
Yes, depending on availability. Rehearsal dinners take place from 4 PM - 10 PM and are held in the lower-level of the barn which seats up to 50 guests. Pricing is $800 for the room rental plus food and bar charges. Catering must be from our list of preferred caterers. Please contact us for availability.
Can we have our rehearsal dinner at the farm?
In most cases, yes, you are able to purchase additional time before the scheduled start time of your venue use. Local ordinances prohibit us from extending venue use past 11:30 PM. Please contact us about purchasing additional time at least 30 days prior to your wedding.
CAN WE PURCHASE ADDITIONAL TIME FOR VENUE ACCESS ON OUR WEDDING DAY?
Yes, you may decorate or personalize the venue for your event. Decorations must comply with fire ordinances and may not be fastened to the walls with any means that would cause damage to the venue.
To protect our historic venue, confetti, smoke machines, fireworks, and open flames (including lit candles) are not allowed. Flameless candles are permitted. Sparklers are allowed in our designated sparkler send-off area.
Can we bring our own decorations?
Set up is on the day of your wedding. If you have a Friday wedding, you are able to set up an hour prior to your rehearsal on Thursday.
When can we set up?
Yes, you are able to bring your own food to the Bridal Suite and Groom’s Cabin. We do offer getting ready drink packages. Contact us to learn more!
